Saint-Germain-des-Prés is a show held in November 16th 2017 at the Pezzani theater in Parma and 3°C, with others classes, we went to see it.
We are in Paris, 2017, in a cafè in the centre of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, always assembly point of young artists and with flexible personality. Gabriel, the young manager of the bar, he’s a guy like many who wait tables dreaming be achieved in the world of music. Every evening he waits who last customers go away for closing the door and taking refuges between the piano notes which is, now, the extension of his hands and the voice of his minds. Everyday to improve the discomfort in dress of the clothes of someone who isn’t feel to be.
A phone call arrives to him that It’s demoralizes him. He’s taking it out on music, but something extraordianary happen: between the notes and the anger he’s brought in an other dimension. Is he dreaming? He’s, maybe, tired cause of the bad day?
It looks pure magic! Same bar, same neighborhood, same piano, but something is changed. Gabriel isn’t alone but there’s the Bande de Zazous, a group of extravagant and lovers of art and entertainment like him. Young artists tell to Gabriel what there’s to know about their world, which is the same neighborhood seventy years before, after the Second World War. Gabriel tells to his new friends how the progress has made the common gestures more easy. Zaza, one of young characters of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, fall in love with Gabriel. He doesn’t know if he has to come back in his epoch or if he has to stay there. Also the choice not to choose is a choice…
